What is JOM?

The Johnson O'Malley Program (JOM) is a federally funded supplemental education program that is administered by the Tribe through a PL 93-638 Contract with the U.S. Department of the Interior Bureau of Indian Affairs and provides services to Cow creek Tribal members from Pre-school through the 12th grade. Program guidelines mandate that students reside within the tribal service area and must be attending a school in order to receive services such as tutoring assistance, education and recreational activities and assistance with parental costs.

Tribal members that live outside the seven-county tribal service area are eligible for Parental Costs only and are funded with non-federal funds.

JOM Program is governed by a seven member volunteer parent committee that plans yearly activities for students and approves tutoring requests.

How do I utilize JOM service?

To receive services applications must contact the Tribal Education Director. All new applicants need to complete a JOM Application. A completed "Request for Services Form" is required for each student request. Changes in contact information such as address, phone number or school information should be conveyed to the Education Director.

The Cow Creek Tribe along with the JOM Committee makes every effort to ensure that students receive the highest quality educational services.
