What is the Tribal Education Program?
The Tribal Education Program is a resource for eligible adult tribal members who reside outside the tribal service area. This program is for Cow Creek Tribal members who are interested in a vocational training program that takes two years and under to complete. One year and certificate programs also qualify for the Tribal Education Program.
Can I attend school part-time with the Tribal Education Program?
Students are required to attend full time (12 credits) and must be in need of training in order to obtain reasonable employment.
If I have utilized Tribal Education Program previously can I apply to the program again?
No more than two repeat trainings services will be allowed. Once a student has obtained their first training service the second training service request made by the student will be determined on unemployed, underemployed or unable to work due to a physical or other disability. Students must declare intent to accept full time employment as possible after completion of their training program.
How do I utilize the Tribal Education Program?
To be considered for assistance through the Tribal Education Program, Tribal members must submit a completed Tribal Education Program Application including a written statement of educational goals and plans, a completed financial aid package, letter of acceptance from admissions, any high school/GED transcripts, completed college transcripts (if attended previously) as well as a copy of any financial aid award letters from the school you will be attending.
How much assistance can I receive through the Tribal Education Program?
The maximum amount is $5,000.00 per academic year for a 2 year program.
Why do I have to apply for financial aid if I already know I will qualify?
To apply for the Tribal Education Program all students must apply for financial aid through FAFSA. When the Education Director receives the award from the school the unmet need is determined through the financial aid office. If a student does not have an unmet need the Education Director will look at tuition and fees and fund the student not exceeding the cap amount for the program.

What if the program that I am applying for does not have a financial aid program?
There are some training programs that do not offer federal financial aid. Tuition, fees, books and supplies will only be considered for funding up to the cap amount for these types of programs. The Education Director will also verify that the program and school of choice is accredited.

The completed Tribal Education Program Application and required documentation must be submitted according to the following deadlines:
