Archaeology

Tribal archaeologists work to protect and preserve culturally significant places and resources of the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians'. The staff consults with federal, state, and local agencies, private developers and land owners to protect cultural sites and objects of importance to the Cow Creek Tribe.

If you have any questions regarding cultural resources or if you believe you have discovered an archaeological site, you may contact the Oregon State Historic Preservation Office at 503.986.0681 or the Archaeology Program of the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians at 541.677.5575.
